test #2.

Well, it's been a week since we found out we're pregnant.  We're keeping it under wraps pretty well because it's easy to forget.  Not in the literal sense because, of course, that is the FIRST thought at the front on my mind all the time.

But seriously.  I haven't had any symptoms or signs except the absence of my period.  I'm not saying I want any symptoms -- God knows I don't deal well with nausea and vomiting (who does, really, I know, but I would rather DIE than throw up).  I'm hoping He's just showing me kindness and mercy.

But, of course, now I'm starting to doubt our decision to share without an official doctor's appt under our belt (which isn't until Mar 26).  Jeff wanted to tell last week, for pete's sake, but I would rather wait for the doctor to confirm.  However, the longer we go, the harder it would be to keep it to ourselves, and to avoid the hassle of trying to get in with my doctor before my scheduled appt, we're just trusting that this is God's timing for us.

But I did take another pregnancy test tonight.

And it was positive.

random thoughts...

I keep having these random thoughts about this and that re: the pregnancy.

I was online today searching for baby blogs I could start following.  I found a couple that look good -- one is a mother of twins and one older daughter.  She started the blog when she got pregnant with her twin girls so I went back to the beginning to try to catch up.  I learned quite a bit.

Did I mention I wouldn't mind having twins?

I think we've got a better grip on the plan to share the news but I feel like I'm stressing myself to death over this!  There's only so much you can control, you know?  My main thing is that our immediate family (parents and siblings) know before anyone else.  Then our Sunday School class because they're all like family to us, too.

Thought tonight about the fact that it would be nice to see my mom's face when she finds out but that won't happen because we don't have any plans to get together with them soon and I can't wait much longer.  It's probably better anyway.  I'm sure it would be a cryfest.  :)

ideas forming...

I think I'm starting to get a little more excited.  Not that I wasn't before, but we're starting to get ideas and form plans on how we're going to share the news with friends and family.  That makes me feel better.  That we have the beginnings of a plan in place.  Ya'll know I'm a planner.  :)

Also, Jeff found a crib today at Babies R Us that he thinks he can build and I like it, too (which was an issue yesterday), so I think we've decided on that, too.

One more thing down.

Yep, just taking it one day at a time.  One thing at a time.

whoa.

I'm pregnant, it seems.

It sure doesn't feel like it.

I took a pregnancy test last night after being 3 days late, and it was clearly positive, but truly, I keep waiting for my period to start.  It just doesn't feel real to me yet, I guess.

I really didn't even want to take the test last night -- I thought I should give it a few more days -- but Jeff was actually hounding me to take one.  I was pretty anxious about it because I just didn't know what to expect.  Or what I wanted.

No, that's not right.  We've been trying since last August (2009) -- about 6.5 mos -- so, of course, I wanted it to be positive, but I guess having never done this before, never had this experience before, I was a little out of sorts, if you will.

But I took the test & when we looked, there was the " + ".  Positive.  Pregnant.

Well, now what?  I should be jumping up and down with joy, right?  Knocking Jeff over with my hugs and kisses?

But there wasn't any of that.  We just kinda looked at each other a few times, and said, "Okay.  So.  We're pregnant.  Huh."  I saw that going differently when we eventually got this news.

It was just kinda weird.  I didn't know what to think.  I still don't.

We're both dealing with this (good) news in different ways -- today I looked all over the internet for creative ways to share the news with friends and family.  Jeff has been researching plans for cribs.  He told me he woke up 2:22am this morning thinking about how everything in our life is about to change.  Our world is about to be rocked!  I had that same thought in the shower this morning.

I guess we'll just take it one day at a time.
